A wonderful practice. Dr. Udesky is friendly, patient and caring. His exam was very thorough and he took the time to explain my tests and plan of action going forward. He also checked and rechecked every which way with insurance and lens selection to make sure my wife and I were saving as much money as possible over the course of the year. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly and we felt truly cared for as new patients. The entire visit was a very positive experience.

Great staff and wonderful doctor! Dr. Udesky always takes his time with his patients and you can tell he really wants the best for them. Definitely a contrast from big retailers where I always feel rushed and not fully informed. Dr. Udesky is also very personable too and for lack of a better term he's a pretty rad dude :)

The personal touch is missing from most medical professionals these days, but here we were treated as if we mattered. We had a thorough discussion and plan created by the time our appointment was over and we felt good about the experience. So, If you are looking for thorough care with a personal touch I highly recommend

Great service from doctor and staff who spent quite a bit of time with me trying to find the right frames. Additionally the pricing for the frames and new lens for my sunglasses was less then what I thought I'd have to pay.

Recently moved and needed to update my prescription. Based on other yelper's reviews, I gave Northbrook Family Eye Care a shot.
Dr Udesky was very thorough and explained anything I asked about. He also gave me recommendations for my contacts (this was a glasses exam). I recommend giving them a shot.

I should wear glasses all the time, but I prefer to walk around blind and just wear them while driving. I have one newish pair (and by newish I mean 3 years old) of glasses in one car and another pair from high school (no joke) in my other car. I decided it may be time to take advantage of my bi-annual free pair of glasses (yay vision insurance!) and replace the high school glasses.
I haven't been to the eye doctor since moving from the city over a year ago and wanted to find someone local. And that's how I found myself in the hands of Dr. Udesky.
I made an appointment online a few weeks before (easy peasy) and even filled out all my insurance info. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn't take the time to process it all beforehand so I had to answer a few questions about my vision insurance when I first arrived, but fortunately it didn't take too long.
Dr. Udesky himself is great. He's very personable, knowledgeable & didn't seem concerned that I walk around blind as a bat. After a comprehensive eye exam & some fun chit chat I was ready to choose a new pair of glasses from his lovely shop. Ta ta high school glasses! The receptionist helped me pick out a pair of Tom Ford glasses that I liked as much as I could like any pair of glasses. My insurance covered a good portion of it, but by the time I paid for everything (eye exam, expensive frames, clip for extra sunny days, etc.) I owed a few hundred dollars. Then again not bad since I tend to keep glasses for 15 years!
They told me the glasses would be ready in about 2 weeks and I received a call that they had arrived exactly 2 weeks later! Since then I'm loving my new glasses, including the clip that I thought would look totally dorky, but actually nicely transforms my glasses into a fashionable pair of sunglasses.
The office/shop is also conveniently located in the same center as Once Upon a Grill* and Dairy Queen. That alone is an excuse not to wait years for another eye exam.

Northbrook Family Eyecare has customer service that goes above and beyond -- and I don't even go here. Here's how I know:
I was in town over Christmas, and accidentally flushed my contacts down the drain. Being the irresponsible college student I am, I also didn't pack any extras. I called around to some optometrists in the area, and fortunately, their office was one of the few open on the day after Christmas.
I brought in a prescription and they gave me a pair of contacts as a courtesy -- saving my vision for the rest of the trip. They are really great people. I would recommend checking them out of you are looking for an optometrist.

Dr. Udesky was really great! Not only was he super helpful but really thorough in helping me understand everything and answering all of my questions no matter how silly they seemed. He was very professional and all around nice guy! The staff were really helpful too! Overall the whole experience was really comfortable and relaxing. I got my eye exam and I picked out some really nice glasses and I'm just waiting to go and pick them up! I think I will be with Northbrook Family Eye Care for a long, long time!

Dr. Udesky & his staff are the best. He has all of the most up to date equipment to diagnose whatever your situation requires. They also have a great selection of frames & offer all of the lenses anyone would like choose.
It's just a very nice, comfortable experience that helps you make all the right choices.
